How to make battery toys switch accessible It’s easy to make simple battery powered toys switch accessible using one of the Battery Adaptors.. You will need to choose a toy with a simple ON/OFF switch. Those with more sophisticated controls such as ‘press the paws’ won’t work.
1. Open the battery compartment and slide the adaptor between the battery and the connector. Trim it with scissors if necessary.
2. Close the compartment and plug in your switch. You’re ready to go!

AbleNet PowerLink
Powerlink 3 is a mains control unit which allows switches to be used to control electrical devices, providing additional experiences. For example, a child can take part in a cookery session by using a switch to turn on and off a food mixer: lights and fans can be connected giving more dramatic and appropriate rewards for older people. By using 'real' equipment, children feel that the switch operation is more important Safe switch control of mains units. This Ablenet control unit connects main appliances to a switch safely for easy activation. As well as a 3.5mm jack connection for a switch, the Powerlink 3 also has an infrared receiver for remote use with the Airlink Remote Switch (below).
Powerlink 3 and AirLink remote switchIt provides four modes of control.
Direct mode: keeps the appliance on only while the switch is activated. Often preferred for first-time switch users. Timed seconds mode: allows the appliance to run for a set amount of time from 1 to 60 seconds with a single activation. Timed minutes mode: allows the appliance to run for a set amount of time from 1 to 60 minutes with a single activation. Ideal for lengthier activities like playing an electric piano. Latch mode: one press of the switch turns the appliance on; the second press of the switch turns it off again. Effective when you want an appliance, such as a lamp or radio to remain on for an extended length of time. Three easy steps to access:
1 Plug the Powerlink 3 into the mains 2 Plug a switch into Powerlink 3 3 Plug in any electrical toy or appliance into the Powerlink 3
